Being Human Cast

Northern France, 1918: After a flirtatious battle with werewolf leader Lady Catherine, Hal arranges a truce between their people: someone is fanning the flames of their races’ conflict – and rumour has it that it is the Devil himself. The unlikely couple seek out an alchemist to summon up the Anti-Christ, intending to imprison the demon’s essence inside the body of a chained lunatic so that they can then destroy him. But the blood ritual goes badly wrong: Catherine is killed – and the possessed lunatic escapes into the night…

The present: Alex and Tom have had Hal strapped to a chair for two weeks while he detoxes from his bloodlust. Finally satisfied that he has at last returned to his senses, they release him: Hal’s first act is to draw up a cleaning rota to sort the mess his flatmates have left the house in; his second is to join Tom in the search for a new job, both having been sacked from the café. Elsewhere, at Melville Kane Insurance Ltd., over-ebullient salesman Ian Cram learns that he is being replaced by his boss’ inept nephew; Ian doesn’t take the news well... A lead from Alex takes Hal and Tom to the Barry Grand Hotel to try out as waiters. While Tom is interviewed by the manager, Patsy, Hal waits in the dining room, where a belligerent, wheelchair-bound old man, Captain Hatch, is giving the staff trouble. Hal is then approached by Dominic Rook, leader of a clandestine government organisation that has been keeping humanity unaware of supernatural creatures for years; Rook offers Hal a deal to lead the vampires – but Hal refuses. Tom’s interview is a success, and Hal also gets his job, mainly because Patsy fancies him. But then Alex spoils things by blaming Hal for her death, and the vampire storms out in anger. Marching home Hal literally bumps into Cram, scaring the sacked salesmen so badly that he runs straight into the path of a passing car; acting in in a panic, Hal turns Cram into a vampire and then ties him up in the basement of Honolulu Heights. In an attempt to keep his actions a secret from his flatmates, Hal distracts Alex and Tom by telling them of Rook’s offer; seeing a way to find out what happened to her body, Alex breaks into the underground complex with Tom; searching through the files stored there she is horrified to learn that her corpse has already been buried, her death explained as accidental drowning. Elsewhere, Rook is summoned to meet the Home Secretary, who informs him that his organisation is to be dissolved and handed over to Special Branch… Returning home, Alex and Tom discover the terrified fledgling vampire in the basement; they decide to let Cram go – and he immediately heads for his former-office to take his revenge…
